Online Services for Patients

It is easy to book and cancel appointments, and order your repeat prescription online, by using online servies.

Online services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year, so it can often be easier and more convenient than a phone call or making a journey to the practice.

NHS login makes it easier and quicker for you to securely access digital health and care services with one username and password. The first time you set up your NHS login, you will need to prove who you are. This is so you can be connected to your NHS record with the surgery, and protect your health information. When you have proved who you are, you will be able to use your NHS login to access websites and apps wherever you see 'NHS login'. This includes the NHS App and myGP App, aswell as other online service providers. For more information about NHS login, please click here.

Why you should register for online services:

  • It is more convenient for you; online services are available 24/7, so you don't need to wait until the surgery is open.
  • Save yourself a phone call; logging online to book an appointment takes just a minute.
  • It is easier to order your repeat prescription; you don't need to journey to the practice, you can see which repeat prescription(s) you take and only order the ones you need.
  • You can update your demographic details, including your address, telephone number and email address, to make sure we have the correct information for you.
Important information:
  • Online services are only available for patients aged 16 years and over.
  • No shared email addresses can be used; everyone using online services will need their own email address.
  • We do not offer the ability to message the surgery via online services, as this can be done using eConsult.
  • Only repeat prescriptions can be ordered online, not acute items. New medication may not immediatly be put on repeat.
  • There will be a limit to what medical information you can view online. You will only be able to view allergies, immunisations and medication. No other medical information will be available to view. If you want access to your medical records, please complete a Data Subject Access Request.
  • If you cannot view immunisations, please inform the surgery and we will give you access.

If you’re a patient at our practice you can now use the new NHS App, a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services on your smartphone, tablet, laptop or computer.

It is free to use and available for android and iPhone. You can also access NHS App services from the browser on your desktop or laptop computer.

An NHS login account will allow you to use the NHS App to check your symptoms, book appointments, order repeat prescriptions and more. You can also use the e-Referral Service in the NHS App to book, view, or cancel your referral appointments.

You can register, verify your identity, and access these features all within the app, without having to contact the surgery.

myGP App

myGP want to make looking after your health simpler and more convenient, via your mobile. With an easy sign-up, myGP puts your personal medical matters in the palm of your hand.

An NHS login account allows you to easily register with the myGP app to securely view your medical records, order your repeat prescriptions, book appointments and access their healthcare marketplace.

You can register, verify your identity, and access these features all within the app, without having to contact the surgery.

Other Providers

If you decide to use an online services provider which doesn't allow you to use the NHS login to verify your identity, you will need to request the following registration details from us, to link your online services account to the surgery (sometimes known as 'registering with a letter');

  • Practice ODS Code
  • Account ID
  • Account Linkage Key

To access your registration details, you will need to complete a registration form and provide photo ID (e.g. passport, driving licence). The registration form can be downloaded here. Please complete the form and bring it to the surgery with your photo ID, and hand into reception.

Once you have completed the form and we have registered you at the practice, you will need to complete your registration online by following the information that we email you.

Some providers will allow you to create an account without registration details from the surgery or without an NHS login, but you will have minimal access to online services, and will not be able to order repeat medication.

Viewing your Immunisation History

If you are registered for online services, you will be able to view your immunisation history online.

You can register for online services with either the NHS App or myGP App. You can register, verify your identity, and access the app fully, without having to contact the surgery.

The surgery will not be able to write letters to confirm what vaccinations you have had, or whether you have had the coronavirus vaccination.

If you already have online services and cannot view your immunisation history online, please contact the surgery and we will be able to grant you access.

After this has been actioned, you may recieve this message or similar; "Your access to online services has been changed. Log on to your online services account to view these changes. This is an automatically generated email. Please do not reply to it. If you have any questions about this email, contact your practice. Yours sincerely, Woodlands Primary Care."
