How to Make an Appointment

If you require an appointment, please call the surgery on 020 8300 1680 at 8am, to book an on-the-day phone consultation or face-to-face appointment (subject to availability), or complete an eConsult by clicking here.


From Monday 1st November 2021, our walk in clinic will be re-starting. You can attend anytime between 8.30am and 10.30am, to sit and wait for the next available clinician.

Appointment System

If your problem is urgent and there are no available appointments, please inform the receptionist. Our usual appointments allow 10 minutes with a Clinician. Please help us by booking a 'double appointment' if you require more time or wish to consult about more than one problem.

You will need to make a separate appointment for each patient who is to be seen. If you cannot keep an appointment, please let us know as soon as possible.

Patients who fail to cancel their appointments will be removed from our practice if they miss three appointments in any 12 month period.

Please do not request an appointment or medical advice via email, as it may be missed.

Woodlands Primary Care is continually trying to improve the service we offer our patients. Please let us have your views good or bad about the new appointment system or anything else connected to the surgery.

We have a suggestion box in the Waiting Room for your comments and feedback.

Making the most of your video and phone appointments


Contact our Clinicians and Admin staff online; if you have a medical issue, an administrative query, need to complete a review or want to update the surgery with any information, please complete an eConsult.

If you have a medical problem and need advice;

  • Send us details about your condition/issue
  • A Clinician decides on the best treatment for you
  • We will ring, text or email you back with advice, a prescription or an appointment, by the end of the next working day (or 3 working days for admin eConsults)

There is also self-help information and pharmacy advice about over-the-counter treatments.

You do not need a login to access this service, and it is available to patients aged 6 months and over.

Please do not send intimate photos alongside your eConsult, even if they are related to the issue you are discussing.

Please Note: We cannot accept repeat prescription requests via eConsult. Please submit these via online services or with your pharmacy.

Walk In Clinic

From Monday 1st November 2021, our walk in clinic will be re-starting.

If you need to see a clinician before the next available pre-bookable appointments, please attend the walk in clinic. These appointments cannot be pre-booked on the day.

If you feel you must be seen then you should come to the surgery between 08:30 and 10:30, and sit and wait for the next available Doctor or Nurse Practitioner. You will be seen in order of arrival. There is no need to call first and you cannot specify which clinician you see.

Please avoid queuing at the surgery for this clinic before 8.30am. We are unable to admit patients for the walk in before 8.30am due to restrictions on room.

The walk in clinic is only for patients registered at Woodlands Surgery.

Cancel an Appointment

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, as this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient.

If you fail to notify the practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters may be removed from the surgery.

Out of Hours GP Hub

Patients registered with a GP practice in Bexley can now benefit from an appointment with a GP on a weekday evening, weekends and bank holiday at two new GP hubs.

Pre-bookable routine appointments are available from 6.30pm to 8pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 8pm weekends and bank holidays.

Booking is easy - patients should contact their GP practice in the usual way and ask for a weekday evening or weekend appointment.

Cancelling your appointment

Patients unable to attend their appointment must call the following answerphone numbers to help ensure that the appointment slot can be made available to someone else:

Please Note: Due to COVID-19, the GP Hub is currently operating mostly a phone consultation system, with few face-to-face appointments.

Home Visits

To request a home visit, please call the surgery as early as possible and always before midday.

If you have shortness of breath or chest pains, please call 999 immediatly.

The Doctor will call the patient/carer back if they feel a visit is not appropriate, or if they need further information before visiting.

We cannot specify what time this will be or when the visit will be.

Please make sure you inform reception if you have a keysafe or access information.
